I weave and sew a variety of fiber textures into the installation. The work itself becomes a form of meditative prayer, worship, and release.
My emotions speak through my work; in moments, I can be fully bound and quiet, struggling to find my voice. In other moments, I am entirely open and vulnerable, willing to express the most distressing or effervescent emotion through the work. It is an ode to the ancestors and pays homage to the obstacles they overcame and the spiritual practice of finding truth and joy amid the pain.
